Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island called West Island. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar to its significance. They often believe it is an island to the west of Montreal however it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities that are Lachine as well as West. The West Island is frequently referred to as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that may be true, her time there was short. Brugel was a young woman within Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She initially wanted to pursue a career as an actress However, following a dramatic growth spurt her partners were no longer able to dance along with her. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. The Brugel is one of the former dancers that turned into acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her in the right direction. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for the school's annual show. After a few auditions, she ended up as the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. This led to her being awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her Master of Fine Arts at York University. For the past twenty years, her roles on television and the big screen have varied. Her role as Rita from the award winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the sole Canadian on the Season 1 cast of the show and only seen occasionally was the sole Canadian.
