Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also sings. She is the youngest female and was the first person to be awarded the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She is the student of Ravi Shankar as well as his daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her early years included a period of time in London in London and New Delhi. At the age of 13 when her first performance in New Delhi took place. Later the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school, graduating with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha, who is only a teenager, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She is often seen performing alongside her father and has been doing so for many years. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. Because she has performed on every major stage in the world, her career on stage is extensive. Anoushka's career goes beyond music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was an Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Her career continues to grow and she'll continue to do many great things in the future. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England was a major part of her time between London Delhi. Following her move to California she completed high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration, Anoushka made her debut as a sitar player before the crowd of at the age of four, following her nine year old father. As a part of her dad's band as he toured the world Anoushka racked up a wealth of performances in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens. She performed at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival and making recordings alongside George Harrison. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was given in her honor by the British Parliament for being the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and is the smallest recipient of the distinction.
